Well how can anyone be judgmental when u do not say what the 7 felony counts r that is not good for him right from the start OK!
Secondly what type of lawyer do u have if he never calls u back he/she sounds like they need to be canned if they can't do there job by keeping u informed as to what is going on with his case plus there is one other thing u have to look at u-r- not his wife u-r- his girlfriend ever heard of Attorney/Client privilege that applies here so he/she is not obligated to check in with u to let u know what is going on that is the legal reason why.
Seven felony counts but u say none r violent well to get seven felony counts they have to be very serious to be facing 90 days to 5 years in prison don't u think
If u want to know California, law look it up on the Internet the particular charges ur bf is facing than look for the penal section to see what he could face for each count if they r upheld.

im not exactly sure on the law in california but u can always talk to his lawyer if he has one or call a lawyer an ask them for advice over the phone . sorry to hear this has happen i bet it is hard to deal with . but most of the time i think that it is really up to the judge but since ur bf hasnt been in trouble before that maybe good for him .some one with the same prob can go in an get less time or more time then him . just depends on the judge . im sure they will look at that these are his first offences though .take care hope things work out

If he's never been in trouble before, that may work to his favor, of course you didn't say what the felonies were, so there's a good possibilty, depending on what he actually did, that he may get some time. I'd consult an attorney and at the very least, see if he's not able to plea some of these charges down.

Nobody can give you a solid answer without knowing the crimes or the judges sentencing history
