Because, in "computer terms," it is considered as YELLING AT A PERSON!! You are "seen" as being upset, angry, p-o'ed, etc. when you write in all caps. That's why it is considered rude and is frowned upon online. And no, writing in small letters is not meek or submissive. You can write a statement that comes across as knowledgeable and worthy of reading. Writing in all caps is more of a deterrent because people would not want to read somebody's angry comments. It also helps if the person writes succinctly, with proper capitalization and punctuation, in order to get his/her point across. Do what Yahoo! requests and use small letters. Otherwise, you may be blackballed from their list serv.

I'd like to take this opportunity to protest myself for being on Y!answers even tho there are more important things to do like doing my laundry n doin the dishes etc lol I almost hear someones yelling at me like ne alaaaaaaaaaaaaka :))))

Yes. I don't know if it helps, but I guess it shows that people are not "swallowing" everything without protesting. Mostly women's rights and animals' rights is what I petition for.
