RAM is very easy to install. Just make sure you get the RAM that's compatible with your computer. The brand does not matter. Look at the type you have now to get the correct one.
Once you get it, it's just a matter of snapping it in place.

Then you find out whether you have DDR SDRAM or DDR2 SDRAM and buy the correct type in the capacity you want (if you get the wrong type it won't fit in the slot).
Usually the brand of RAM shouldn't matter though if you find you have incompatibilities (i.e. the new RAM doesn't work) then bringing the module back and trying to different brand is often a good idea. A BIOS update before you do the upgrade is also worth doing just to get rid of any bugs that might cause problems.
If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself a local computer shop can do it all for you for not much extra charge.

You need more facts than that, you need to look into the motherboard... look up the manual and find out what it says... If you dont have the manual, try finding the motherboard brand label and doing a search for it, or take it in and ask the geeks at a computer store if it is expandable... another thing to do is walk down the computer game isle at your game retailer and look at the minimum requirements for the new games, if they would not work on your computer, then upgrading memory will not be sufficient to keep relevent.

sram is NOT universal!!!
check with the manufactures web site to get the low down on the type (sdram; ddr; ddr2; ect) and the speed of the sdram that you can use. also locate the max amount per slot and total
purchase the correct speed and as much as your slots and wallet can handle
open the case, ensure that you are in a static free environment and now the easy part put in the new memory
easy as that
