Improvise.
I can usually make something simple and everyday dishes I want to eat without having to read a recipe. I make them up as I go along - especially stir fries.

I know you better look on the box to see how many minutes it goes in the microwave for. That is the secret right there.
Other than that if it won't go on the BBQ I know nothing.
