Without knowing your full dental status, there are glue/paste products that I have used that fill in the gaps between the plate and the gum, such that they hold the plate in place.
You can use the stuff to hold the plate in place until your mouth settles down, and then get the plate refitted.

I had the same problem. my plate didn't fit me exactly! But my orthodontist told me option 1.
here are two things to do/know:
1) Your teeth will ALWAYS move after braces, so it is normal for the plate to not fit perfectly (leaves a few gaps)
2) If your plate really doesn't fit at all, go to your orthodontist and get a new one fitted. Don't leave it to long!
Hope that helps!

Mine felt the same, but it's just because your teeth are moving around. At your next check up tell your dentist your concerns, and they'll tell you if it doesn't fit.
Good luck.
