in xp i can't install 98
help me
in command prompt it says the same problem
that it can't be installed in xp

U need a bootdisk to boot from (www.bootdisk.com Win 98 SE OEM version)
U also need a copy of FDISK for Win98 on this disc
Boot with the floppy
FDISK the hard drive to DELETE existing (probably) NTFS partition, and create a new one,
Then U start the CD isntall system

Why, is the only sensible answer ? Reverting to Windows 98 will require a reformat.. If you want to run Windows 98 Programs in XP find them with Windows Explorer ( My Computer for dummies out there) right click and attempt to set up compatibility modes ...

Then again, as you obviously do not have a clue what you are dong this advice is probably meaningless to you

I think some of the problem might be that XP formated HDD is not readable by WIN98. You might have to reformat the disk using an older standard. There are probably tools available - someone might know.

you are going from Windows XP to Windows 98?
you are going backwords --Most ppl are downloading Windows 2007. plus you have to uninstall xp first to install the other.

You have to format the XP partition, make it FAT32 and then install win98. You'll loose all data on that partition
