cheaper make-up is low quality make-up with lots of fillers. you also have to buy cheaper make-up more often, because it doesn't last as long as high quality brands, so you actually spend much more in the long run. my 25.00 bare minerals foundation lasts me about one year, the 12.00 liners & eye shadows last several years. it pays to invest in good quality brands. hint to your parents : x-mas present !

I disagree. You don't need to spend a lot to get good makeup...
It's unclear what country your in:

In america, WET AND WILD isn't too good.
But Maybelline is excellent, $7 for mascara, which lasts for 6 months. Try unstoppable lashes, that's really good.

If you haven't go too much money, then do this:
Buy 1 eye gloss in a peachy shade
Buy 1 regular eyeliner
Buy 1 coloured eyeliner
Buy 2 different coloured lip stick's/gloss
Buy 1 foundation if you need it.

Put these in a list of priority. Then buy 1 a week/month. You might not actually need mascara/eyeliner so that will save money.

Basically, if you combine these things you have all different looks.
Going to a class: Eyegloss and Lipgloss
Going out on a date: Coloured Eyeliner LipGloss
Going out with friends: The other eyeliner and Lipgloss

See wasn't that simple! All different looks :P

Hey! not all make ups are expensive. In fact, there are a lot of good make up brands that are not as much expensive as the other brands.

You can try these brands:

Maybelline
Bonne Bell
Rimmel London
etc.=)

P.S. From what country are you? Because if we live in the same country, I can recommend you more cheap yet nice make up brands!

If your looking to buy eyeshadow, I can tell you from experience that you don't need to buy the upper ends for this. Try WnW or NYX. They have great eye shadows for cheap price! I don't know about foundation because I don't wear it. As for lip stick/gloss, the same rule applies. If you know which brand to buy, then they work just as well as the higher ends.

Just exactly how much are you willing to pay for make up? The good stuff such as cover girl, mabeline, and revlon are going to be pricey. ($8-15 for foundation, $5-10 for lipstick, etc)

But if you want the cheaper stuff, go to the dollar store. ($1-3.50 for cheap make up there)

Cheers

When you're really, really healthy you'll notice your skin glows and you need less makeup. Experiment with using less and see how public reaction goes. (Some guys hate makeup.)
