Of course not, and here's why.
I only get to vote for the senators in my state, yet every senator gets to vote on issues that concern me. The same goes for representatives in the House.
Congress does not poll its constituants as to what we want, but rather attempts to explain why what they want is best for us.
Fuel prices are obscene, that does not represent what I want.
Home foreclosures are at an all-time high, also not what I want.
Illegal immigration has become virtually uncontrollable, yet something else I do not want.
Outsourcing has cost more American jobs than the Great Depression. Nope, I don't want that either.
The trade deficit to China is larger than what will fit on a standard calculator, all so that we can have Dollar Stores. Guess what, I don't want that either.
No, I don't think the government represents my views very well.

Not now Bush has his own views and most of the time he could care less what we the PEOPLE think. He has blinders on and has blinded the masses with propaganda and imaginary hopes. Our government is so full of crap washint\gton smells like a cow filled pasture.

No, most Americans want the borders secure and illegals removed from the U.S.
Politicians want to give illegals benefits and privileges they don't deserve

Not really.Only on local issues do they show a local interest to save votes for the next turnout. On major issues, either their own views or that of the whips are used.
