They don't need a male. Two females can be kept together if the tank is large enough. Watch for signs of stress such as fighting, poor appetite, etc. One may attempt to dominate the other. Usually, when kept in captivity, leopard gecko healthy community consists of 4-6 females and one male...2 males would not tolerate each other, but 2 or more females without a male should live a happy life...enjoy your leopards, I also have them, a male and a female, and they are just great pets
