2p^2-14p+2 = 2·(p^2-7p) +2 = 2·(p^2- 2·7/2· p + 49/4 -49/4)+2 = 2·(p-7/2)^2 -45/2 =0 <-->

2·(p-7/2)^2 = 45/2 <--> p-7/2 = ±√(45/4) = ±3√5 /2 <-->
p=7/2 +3√5 /2 and p=7/2 -3√5 /2

saludos.

p² - 7p + 1 = 0
(p² - 7p + 49/4) - 49/4 + 1 = 0
(p - 7/2)² = 45/4
p - 7/2 = ±√45 / 2
p = 7/2 ± 3√5 / 2
p = (1/2) (7 ± 3√5)

2p^2-14p+2=0 / :2
p^2-7p+1=0
D=49-4=45
sqrt(D)=sqrt(45);
x1,2=[7+/-sqrt(45)]/2
Simple formula. Good luck ;)

strengthen and settle on utilizing the quadratic formulation, the position x = [-b ± ?(b² - 4ac)]/2a (n-3)²=n n² - 6n + 9 = n n² - 7n + 9 = 0 a = a million b = -7 c = 9 n = [7 ± ?(40 9-4(a million)(9))]/2 n = [7 ± ?(13)]/2 n = [7 + ?(13)]/2 or [7 - ?(13)]/2 n = 5.30278 or n = a million.697224
