I bought a new Samsung 22'' LCD monitor as an external monitor of my laptop which has ATI mobile X300 graphics card, using D-sub cord. The problem is I can observe a subtle shadow extending from the right of each pixel. I have tried to adjust the cord and ports and the resolution but no help. 1680x1050 is the maximum resolution that can be supported by ATI X300. The LCD supports 75MHz refresh rate but my card can only afford 60 at this resolution. I wonder if this happens because of my old graphics card. And is it solvable? Thank you!

You are probably seeing the limit of your onboard video.

You could try a better video cable. As a general rule the thicker the cable the better. The shorter the better too. Good cables tend to be expensive. Unfortunately expensive cables do not always turn out to be that good.
