I think Elise is a beautiful first name! I don't think Natalie quite suits it as a middle name, though. Elise has the accent on the last syllable, and Natalie has the accent on the first syllable, so the combination has two accented syllables in a row (uh-LEES NAT-uh-lee). It's not a bad name, but it's not very melodic.
Maybe try a different middle name with the accent on the second syllable:
Elise Rosanna
Elise Victoria
Elise Danielle
Elise Natalia
Elise Natascha
Also, keep in mind that Elise makes a great middle name if you decide to go with something else as a first name. It has the same cadence as the ever-popular Renee, Marie, and Nicole (which make such great middle names because their accent is on the second syllable).
I do agree with the previous poster who said Natalie Elise sounds better -- but, like your husband, I prefer Elise as a first name. It's much more interesting than Natalie and deserves its primary position! :)

Natalie Elise flows better your right. But middle names really aren't a big issue if you ask me and I think Elise is a prettier first name.
I would either go with your husband's Elise Natalie, or think of an other middle name to go with Elise.
For Example:
Elise Victoria
Elise Mae
Elise Jayne
GOOD LUCK! I know everybody's giving you different advice so just go with your guts!

I like it. I do prefer Elise to Natalie but I agree with you that Natalie Elise sounds better. You can't go wrong either way though. They are both very nice.

Natalie Elise has a much better flow. Also, keep in mind the way the initials are layed out with your last name. They can sometimes spell something you don't like =]
Beautiful name though! Have a healthy and happy pregnancy!

Both are very pretty, though I agree with you ... Natalie Elise sounds better.
The way the syllables fall, Elise Natalie sounds ... strange. It doesn't flow as well. Elise is spoken with much softer syllables, so it's a little harsh on the ear to have such a strong-sounding syllable after Elise.

In a way it's funny that your husband things Elise Natalie sounds like the spanish for Merry Christmas, when Natalie really does mean something about christmas...I think he might be on to something!
Natalie means: From the Late Latin name Natalia, which meant "Christmas Day" from Latin natale domini.
Elise comes from the name Elizabeth meaning: From Ελισαβετ (Elisabet), the Greek form of the Hebrew name אֱלִישֶׁבַע ('Elisheva') meaning "my God is an oath" or perhaps "my God is abundance". The Hebrew form appears in the Old Testament where Elisheba is the wife of Aaron, while the Greek form appears in the New Testament where Elizabeth is the mother of John the Baptist.
So in reality her name means "My God is an Oath of Christmas morning" :)
