A number of my friends have experienced odd activity on myspace accounts, such as random bulletin, comments, messages, that they did not post themselves. I looks as if it is coming from a friend, but really it seems that is some sort of phishing attack. Can anyone let me know what to do if you do end up clicking on such a link and receiving weird computer behavior?

Ok, thanks, but my friend's computer is already messed up by it. What do I do to fix it?

Change the password. The process of phishing is really simple. They make a fake myspace login page, but instead of logging you in it sends your e-mail and password to a txt document. They send you the fake login, you click it and see the "you must be logged in to do that" page. You type in your e-mail and password and they get it.

Just take a look at the URL of the login page, if it says http://www.myspace.com it's real

If it says something like http://www.sharemycrates.com/myspace.php (a phishing link I got a few times) it's fake

When I did get the sharemycrates link, I was able to locate the txt document by changing the url to:
http://www.sharemycrates.com/myspace.txt (I just changed .php to .txt)

In the txt document was about 100 myspace e-mails and passwords. I turned like 10 of there myspaces to uncle phil and told them not fall for phishing links

You should not answer any Phishing stuff. Just delete the message/e-mail or get out immediately from phishing web-page.

You should set your IE to medium high security level. Then, IE would not release your personal data.

You should not let the browser to remember your passwords.
