they were ranked in bcs rankings ahead of lsu, beat a higher ranked opponent in boston college than lsu did in tennessee and everyone in front of them lost but uga and osu.
uga is not going because they didnt win their conference or their division in the sec.
so why won't the bcs make osu 1 and vt 2?

why were they ahead of lsu last week then? why should lsu jump them this week? they didnt rank them different last week because lsu had beat them by 40.

the bcs championship is just bogus. i see yalls points, (and i am not a vt fan), but if they were ranked ahead of lsu last week, i dont see how you can jump them. PERIOD! i aint watching it regardless of whos in. it's meaningless.

my whole point is, if VT was ahead of LSU last week, how can they leap frog them this week. i think the SEC is by far the best conference and i can name four SEC teams that might win a college tourney. BUT for the BCS to have any credibility it has to be VT vs. OSU. PERIOD!

It's funny that everyone bring up the LSU/Tech game earlier this year. But the BCS is all about now. The results of week two would not be the same results if the two teams played today. Va Tech is a much better team than they were in week two and LSU is not quite the same as before. LSU has beaten Florida (so has Georgia and Auburn), Tennessee (so has Cal, Florida, and Alabama), and other teams who lost to other garbage teams. LSU also lost to Kentucky (#17 at the time) and Arkansas (unranked). Virginia Tech lost to LSU who were #2 at the time and to Boston College who were also #2 at the moment. So I think Tech should be a considerable favorite. They did play a tougher schedule than Ohio State.

I think they will inevitably, however is imperative we remember that the powers that be in the BCS have a love affair w/ the SEC so its very possible that there might be a flip-flop come sunday night when the rankings are released...
I think the rankings will resemble this:
1. Ohio State(11-1)
2. Virginia Tech(11-2)
3. LSU(11-2)
4. Oklahoma(11-2)
5. Georgia(10-2)
6. Kansas(11-1)
7. USC(10-2)
Like I said though pollsters love the SEC and would love to put LSU against Ohio State in hopes they would embarass the Buckeyes... Its all about politics, Va Tech isn't the sexy pick but I think they did just enough to hold off LSU... Remember if come later sunday night LSU is ranked #2 its not because Va tech wasn't the better team its because the BCS feels LSU plays in a better conference... Too bad...

you will desire to get your data rapidly. VT replaced into #3 interior the BCS standings. They weren't even a focused #3. all the communities/conferences comprehend what the regulations are for determining which communities play interior the championship pastime till now the season starts. end, there replaced into no snub of VT. a million. Ohio State 0.9588 2. LSU 0.9394 3. Virginia Tech 0.8703 See source for terribly final BCS standings. Edit: The BCS pc has VT as #3 with OSU & LSU being a million & 2 respectively. It makes use of three aspects: a million.) the Harris poll, 2.) the Coaches poll (no longer the AP poll) and 3.) a summation of 6 focused pc polls (throwing out the severe and espresso score) as a area. those 6 pc polls weren't created by using the BCS, yet have been chosen by using the BCS. the suitable score is achieved by using a BCS pc, despite if it might desire to actual be finished with an including device.

So what you say you should only be allowed to be leapfrogged if you lose? Well that will make for some silly polls. Although the whole polling thing is silly in the first place, that aside it make sense that they have silly rules. To be honest I don't like VT anyway, so I hope they don't get to the title game. Sorry but I'm a Big East fan and they burned that bridge, funny how the Big East is getting more respect then the ACC now that the ACC got Thug U and VT and BC.

LSU beat Florida, Tennessee and Georgia. All three teams coming into today were potential SEC teams to play in a BCS game. Virginia Tech has played nobody impressive aside Boston College than LSU, and the Tigers killed them.

Well Kansas didn't lose either....but same argument as for uga applies,,, 'cept for one thing the argument isn't valid...
Talk to Nebraska from a few years back,, lost to Colorado Tgiving weekend and didnt make big 12 championship game,,, still got to #2 after all the title games and got blown out by Miami in the Rose Bowl (NC game that year).
I think Kansas should go,, only other 1 loss team but we will see, will be UGA or Kansas I think though.. VATech has outside chance though they didnt win that big.

because you don't have to play for your division to play for the championship..You can't move a team up to #4 the week end after finding out they won't be playing for there division.and then have teams jump them for not even playing a game. Georgia can and will play for the title. I'm sorry

Could be the 2 losses...By record, it should be Hawaii and Kansas for the championship...but they won't make it, because they aren't "football schools"...The BCS should just be called BS...
