Maybe a little too late to answer this, but here it goes
You probably keep your mouse turned on even when it is not used.
If this is the case, keep reading
The circuitry of a mouse has 3 parts. It's laser; it's software (program); and it's wireless reciever.
When you leave it on for too long, your laser will be tired and be overloaded with data for long periods of time. I suggest remembering to turn your mouse off when it is not used

It could be that your mouse is not working as well as it could. They do wear out from time to time, so if you've had that mouse for a long time, you might try a different one.
Also, there are settings in your computer that change the sensitivity that your computer's operating system has to the actions of the mouse. Perhaps your software has been set to be too sensitive. You can change this through the Control Panel.

try this, Start, control panel, printers and other hardware, mouse.
In here are several options for your mouse, hit default button and see what happens. You can adjust speed, sensitivity, double click sensitivity.....you can play around here and if you don't like any changes hit default settings. Hope this helps good luck

you can go into the control panel then into the option for mice. Then re configure the setting that makes it click twice.
