Lucky for me I dont like seafood or fancy cheese's. So I havent really had an issue cutting the bad things you should eat when pregnant out.

Alothough, I do love a nice rasher or two of bacon sometimes!
But I heard you cant eat this either?!

ITs not too much of an issue to cut it out if its really bad, but im not impressed I didnt find this out soon. Is there a source or website that will tell me EVERYTHING you should avoid, and why?

Thanks :)

Oh im 14 weeks with my 1st :)

You can eat bacon. As long as it's cooked and eaten hot. I ate LOADS of bacon with my 1st pregnancy. People say not to because of nitrate or something. But I asked my doctor and she said as long as it's cooked and eaten hot there's nothing to worry about.

When i was pregnant, i was told i couldn't eat all sorts of stuff. Don't eat peanut butter, it causes anaphylaxis.
Don't eat seafood. Its raw. Fish has mercury.
Don't eat cold chicken, or ready made salads.
Don't eat brie or soft cheeses.
Don't eat medium rare steak.
Don't drink too much milk. Lactose intolerance.
Don't eat wheat, this can cause gluten allergies.

Ok. That's me turned into an anorexic already.

Well ladies, I'm proud to say that while i was responsible and did the right thing, ( I took my pregnancy vitamins, I ate vegies, I ate enough dairy etc.) I also ate small amounts of those soft cheeses, and a tiny amount of fish. I would have eaten prawns, but couldn't stomach the smell. And i don't like oysters raw, so i ate them cooked too.
I gave birth to a healthy 3.75 Kg (8.25Lb) baby without any complications.
I think that as long as you're sensible about how much you eat, and you're not eating OFF FOOD, you should be ok.

Having said that, if you're going to worry about the risks in eating food, there are websites to help you.

Heres an interesting site. It doesnt focus purely on foods, but some foods are listed thoughout. For instance, it says you shouldnt eat hot dogs (it explains why). http://www.bygpub.com/natural/pregnancy.htm
I wouldnt be TOO concerned with everything you hear though, obviously if certain well known foods are talked about as being harmful to a baby then dont eat it. If its other foods, as listed in random websites, dont be too concerned, talk to your doctor is you are unsure of a food. Here's another site for you:

I just typed in what to eat and not eat during pregnancy into google and a whole bunch of website listings regarding that came up. As mentioned though, doctors should be able to tell you the things to avoid, websites may not always be accurate.

You can eat just about anything you want if you have it in moderation. The occasional rasher isn't going to hurt you or your baby. If you have any questions about what you can/cannot eat during your pregnancy your should consult your physician.

Well I sure hope there is nothing wrong with bacon... Otherwise this perfectly healthy and beautiful little girl that runs around my house everyday must not be mine!

You can eat bacon. Just make sure it's thoroughly cooked.
