As an Aussie ... I have to KIND of come to the defense of the Americans at that time...
but firstly ... I have to say this ..
throughout history .. things happen that we judge on today's standards and WITH the benefit of hindsight..... as they say Hindsight has 20/20 vision.......
Anti-semitism was rife between the wars . .and it wasn't JUST the Germans who had a thing against Jews. They were not popular in the USA, Britain, Russia and many other nations .. people were suspicious of the success of Jewish bankers and businessmen and therefore felt threatened.. ( RIGHTLY OR WRONGLY) of Jewish people dominating the economies of the world ....
Hitler was an admired man at one point .. Admired by the Americans and the British for his strengths .. BUT I doubt that people of that time really knew what kind of man Hitler was and what terrors he would unleash in the world...
HAD the americans any idea of the Jewish extermination camps .. I doubt that they would have supported Hitler...
We must remember the Exodus of the Jewish people from Europe and how they were turned away ... Nobody wanted them .. Nobody saved them ..
All the things we know now .. again .. I can not imagine the american people joining with Hitler HAD they known.
Eugenics was also a science studied and researched by people of that time as it *seemed like a good idea at the time" ... kind of like deep sleep therapy , electric shock treatment.... NOT sure if THAT makes americans as evil as the German Nazis
PLEASE NOTE : I do not approve of what was done by the nazis .. that period of world history is very Black

Here we go again--many people at 1st supported Hitler--and then they found out they where wrong and fought against the NAZy party--just like the people of today are for charvez and ane the the president od Iran--But today--the people that support the communist fasists--know beeter--and stile support them--the people of the past didnt know better--but then-changed sides-when they did -but the people of today they know better and still support the communist Fasistis
