when it comes to spares do you think copied parts at least half the price of parts from a Mitsubishi main dealer are just as good?or cheap copies that will fail faster then a genuine part from Mitsubishi

some external parts like bumpers, headlights and bulbs, air filters, hoses etc...are as good as the OEM if not better, Some parts for the inside of the engine must be replaced with the OEM parts, you know you're going to get the maximum service life out of these parts, copied parts will fail quicker than the Genuine OEM.

Aftermarket companies rarely make parts that are as good as, or cost as much as the original.

The market for these inferior parts is huge. Local garages can purchase them for a fraction of the price of the original, then make a huge profit by selling them to you at a small discount off the original. All the time telling you things like "they're just as good" or "we bought them from the company that make them for the original manufacturer." Rarely, if ever, are either one of these cases true. And the parts are usually inferior. Stick with genuine parts if you plan to keep the car.

U have to know how to check genuine parts. U have to purchase from company's authorised dealers only. Each part bears part number. In case of doubt, consult the manufacturer on mail.

well the important thing is not to make your car suffer major repairs... there are parts that are also quite as good as the original... i've got a 10 yr old lancer and most of the parts used are still good and they're not original.. as long as u maintain ur car in tip top running condition and always change oil 2x a year...

Must to fail faster in my opinion.
I don't like copied parts, as the price difference is not so big.

You MAY be able to go to a library and check out a manual. If they don't have one they *should* be able to get one thru an inter-library loan. I use to check them out all the time, years ago. Don't know if they still carry them; Chilton and Motor's manuals. It's worth a shot.
