Other animals have feelings & emotions, so I don't see how fish wouldn't. They have vertabrae (sp?) like birds, mammals & reptiles which would imply a more or less sophisticated neurosystem & they obviously experience fear & pain so it seems to follow that they would feel pleasure/happiness also.
More compellingly, if you watch fish for any amount of time you can see them learn things, form friendships & exhibit emotions such as curiosity & playfulness. A fish in a plain glass bowl with little decor or plants & nothing much to do usually *won't* behave in a curious or playful manner, which implies that this unstimulated fish may be lonely, bored or depressed-- wouldn't anyone? Fish in an interesting & varied environment act much differently-- which is lots more fun for the fish as well as ppl who enjoy looking @ them.

I dont know that they have feelings , My nephew used to take his out of the tank and pet them when he was little ....he went through alot of gold fish ... the ones he had seeme to have learned to swim away when ever his hand came next to the tank so mabey the felt fear.....peace

Yes, because they reproduce and that takes feeling. Maybe not on the level we experience it but they do have feelings.

well duh, of course they have!
some fish changed colours darker or lighter because they're stressed, and they always seems to swim away when you poke in ur net or ur hands!
look at em when they're out of water, they suffer from air! they can't breathe and they wiggle and struggle by jumping around!!! that's stressed!!!
