I don't mind it, it is interesting.
I don't think that it should matter what anybody else really thinks about it, if you like it, go for it. There are a lot stranger names out there.

I'm a nursing student so I thought of the medical definition of Latus. "The latus is a region of the abdomen between the hypochondrium and inguinal region. In some contexts, it is sometimes called the flank or lumbar region.? So I guess personally I wouldn't name my child after a part of an abdomen, but if you love it, then go with it!

I'm sorry but names that no one has ever heard of are difficult at best. And if you have to tell us how to pronounce it, then so will the child...for the rest of their life. Pick a name your child will love, not something trendy, not something strange, something good and solid that will work as a child and when they are 53 and when they are 93. Don't make your child's life hell because you made up a neat sounding word.

lol I've thought several times about asking this same question! I like the people more than the name! But...I have thought that if I adopt a certain 6 month old I might slap that name right on him! lol

Not good. Rhymes with flatus. I used to be a nurse. Flatus is expelled gas from the intestinal tract. No end of the kid being made fun of.
