Social standing, with elders, with peers, with community, In job situations, employees, employers, etc.....My reputation is important because I wish people to think good things about me, and to know the truth about me as a person, rather than rumours that people who do not like me can spread. No one enjoys being disliked, however some people just dont care.If someone does dislike me, I find its usually because they have a misrepresented opinion of me from someone else, or they have gotton an impression that is incorrect from one action or statement. You can only see a person by getting to know them, by taking the time out, you cannot really know someone by reputation alone, as reputation can be very blurred at the lines...and can be influenced by so many factors and so many people with varying thoughts.

In the real world reputation is important, especially if you have a biz. A good reputation will equal more $$$. A bad reputation....
less money. That's just my experience.

If you are trying to please a crowd or just score points with people, reputation is everything.
If you are trying to be a good person and actually have meaningful things in you life, being your word in everything is everything.
If you are worried about what other people think, relax and find something better to do than take on other people's accountability.

I value my reputation very much. My career choice depends on my word. My word is my bond, without that...I have nothing.

I don't think it is really important, as long as though a person can present them selves as kind && not a pyhsco, it's all good then.

Someone who doesn't have experience with you will get their information about you from others who do.

Because it tells a lot about your character and your trustworthiness. It determines how some people will treat you, also.

It is not important.
If I'd be so rich, I'd run for presidency in a republic, and I'd **** on what you think of me.
I've got my salary.
;-) Still need examples?
