mine have things to chew , a wheel to run on, little hideaways, tubes to crawl through and each other to interact with ,plus i take them out every day and let them run around on the desk and me, is this a good enough life for a rodent? wouldnt they get bored of those things or is that all they do naturally anyway?

It sounds like they have lots of enriching activities, but you might want to re-arrange their environment to keep things interesting. You don't mention what kind of rodents you live with, but if they're rats you could give them hammocks, which they love, as well as small cat toys made of sturdy plastic (especially the kind with bells inside). Rats, mice & hamsters enjoy an ocassional nut in its shell, which is a treat, a toy & a tooth trimmer all in one.

Sounds like they have heaps to keep them amused. If you're worried about them being bored rotate their toys like you would a child. They also like having a dig in dirt so a container of dirt maybe a small pot plant would be a nice treat occassionally. My daughter makes big obstacle courses for hers to run through sometimes while she has them out.

Anything can get boring. You are doing fine the way you are. If you are concerned then change the things in their house each time you clean it. Also think about working in the animal feild you have the right stuff, it shows by the way you care for your pets.

You're doing a good job, from what I hear. :) Just be sure to take it out and hold it for a while every day. They love the attention.
