Sadly, a broken heart is something that noone can help you with, it just takes time to heal. What you can do tho, is just be there for your friend, hes going to need someone to talk to about all this, just assure him he can call you anytime, or come over anytime he needs to talk. Dont try to tell him there are [other fish in the sea] because he doesnt want to hear that right now, he wants her. Fasten your seatbelt, its going to be a long, bumpy ride. But it will work out in the end. He's lucky to have such an amazing and caring friend like you :)

I hope this helps.
Good luck
Best wishes
God Bless

:)

Keep him busy with different activities...get involved in volunteer work or regular work. It'll help get his mind off how he feels. When he talks about it, be a friend and listen. He may not want advice, but just to vent. If you see signs that he is totally withdrawing, he may be getting depressed...not a good thing. At that age, people can get drastic with themselves. If you think he needs to talk to a professional, say so. You are his friend and he needs to rely on his friends to see him through. He's lucky to have you as a friend.

I prefer to be alone when I'm hurt very bad. None of that going out and having a "good time" crap. Grief is part of the healing process. She is the only one that can ease that with a little contact with him and he will eventually be better. She needs to keep in touch and make sure he is OK. Its good that you are concerned. Good friend, but I suggest stay away somewhat.

The best thing to do is just be there for him and if he needs to talk he'll know he can come to you. That's what being a friend is all about. Just try to do things with him to keep his mind off the pain.

tell him: she obviously wasnt the girl for him. she's selfish and has poor judgement/ also tell him that the girl of his dreams could be around the corner and moping and being consumed with his ex isnt helping him, just making it worse. and in one moth he'll look back at today and feel silly
