sure. if you don't like it, quit. otherwise, get over it and earn your paycheck. at least she told you ahead of time instead of springing it on you

Well, it could be that she feels intimidated at her new position and feels threatened by her new staff. So she is trying to sound like a tough guy to ward off any potential problems. She wants to let you know who's boss right from the beginning so you won't try to get away with anything and walk all over her. The language that comes out of a person's mouth shows what class they are and she doesn't sound all that classy!!!

I'd just give it some time and see how it goes..do your job the right way and don't challenge her authority. She may turn out to be ok. She probably is "allowed" to say what she wants within reason, but if she starts acting on it, you have reason for concern. If she becomes abusive either verbally or physically, she can be reported. Just remember, every boss HAS a boss and if she becomes out of control you can report her to her boss...She has rules and regulations to follow just as you do! Good luck.

hi I worked at Harrods for 2 years interior the c/m dept. there have been constantly memories approximately this way of element occurring interior the previous yet I never observed something like it. perhaps i became fortunate.... yet my journey became that they have a stable HR dept could your chum relatively be afraid she could pop in and talk to somebody. There are over 330 departments and concessions so she would desire to observe for yet another dept (Is she employed at as quickly as by utilising Harrods or a concession?) oftentimes that's an mind-blowing place to have worked because it has helped me safeguard positions interior different 5* institutions. you're required to placed on uniform (black fit etc & tidy in appearence) that's estimated in such places.. wish your chum is effective, yet terrific suggestion if she would not like the enviromnent then flow away. (i'm helpful having the call on her CV may help her interior the destiny because it has me) stable good fortune! x

No, I do not think she is allowed to say that. It is degrating, politically incorrect and could offend many people. If I were you, I would let upper management know about what she said. She should be reprimanded for that for sure.

i don't think there are any laws against her language, however it does show her ignorance! there should be a regional manager or owner, talk with them about this! she is diffently not manager material! i would not have her working for me!

Why not - if she said otherwise she'd be lying...

It's an example of poor management skills: does HER boss know of this ?
