Does anyone remember when Vincent Lecavlier almost became a leaf?

He wasn't getting along with the coach so they worked out a deal:

Kaberle
Antropov

for

Lecavlier



but at the last second the "Upper Managment" cancelled the deal.


Where do you think the leafs would be if that deal went through?

The winger Sundin always wanted.

That would have been a bad deal for the Leafs. Lecavalier is a lousy winger, as is Sundin. It would have been Gilmour/Sundin all over again and that was a huge internal mess for the franchise. When Gilmour came back in 2002 he knew he was a 3rd line player.
