I was thinking about my life and I've decided that I want to be a nurse because that is my childhood dream to help people and we can never have enough nurses in the world. A lot of people want to be a nurse for the money only and do not care about the people. At 20 years old I am sure a nurse is best for me because I am a people person and I feel I will make a great nurse.

Here's the questions: (for teens or whoever)
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Do want to go to Community College or a 4yr University?
Why did you make these choices?
And how do you plan to accomplish this?

I am a young mother and I'm going to school full time to become a nurse and my minor is in child development. Next semester I plan to work on campus to pay for childcare and books. When I was a teen and even when I was pregnant I never knew I'd be serious about school in this way. I had a talk with a friend today who is 21 and he doesn't want to go to school or get a real job just live with his mother for the rest of his life so it made me ask this question because a lot of us including myself sit on Y!A almost all day and I'm curious to know other's life and dreams for the future.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A psychologist or a dolphin trainer. (I know, very different things!)

Do want to go to Community College or a 4yr University?
A 4-year, although I'm planning to go for the 8-year-stretch!

Why did you make these choices?
Psychologist - In this crazy world, we need someone to help people
Dolphin Trainer - I went to Discovery Cove, and I just loved the atmosphere, I love marine animals, and what a better way - to train them! Plus you get paid!

And how do you plan to accomplish this?
I hope to go to a good college and get a Master's/Doctor's degree and study Zoology or Psychology.

*Edit*

Wow! A lot of people on here want to be a psychologist!! Cool!!

I want to be in animation in Japan, I don't know which area though (character design, backgrounds, etc.). When I become good enough at drawing and writing I want to try and create comic books (also in Japan), in other words, I want be a mangaka. I'm not quite sure where I'll go, but I want to go to an art college. Why did I make these choices? Because I love the Japanese culture, art, manga, books, etc. and everything about the world of animation. How do I plan to accomplish it? I'm fourteen right now and I'm planning on getting a job this year or next to save up for post secondary school and an apartment and all that, I already have some money that I'm saving in the bank, it's a pretty good amount to start at too. I'm already taking Japanese at my school, and I just got my first report card and I'm getting an A which I'm happy about, so that's a start. I wish you luck in achieving your dream, I'm sure you'll accomplish it. You should be proud of yourself, a lot of people don't bother even trying to work toward a goal for some reason or another. I didn't start off that great the beginning of this school year (one A, one B, one C, and two C-'s), but I'm going to try my hardest now to get all A's and B's, no matter how hard it is. I'm wanted to be a mangaka since I was eleven, I think. I only decided this year that I want to go for animation first. Anyway, good luck and I wish you the best.

I want to say congrats on your decision to become a nurse. My mother is an RN and works with babies who have trakes and such. Its an honorable job and I have a lot of respect for people in the medical field. But now to your questions:

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I'm 13 and ever since I was 3 years old I have wanted to act. I would put on plays and little acts for my family when I was little and now I am actually taking classes at a local theater.

Do want to go to Community College or a 4yr University?
I do not wish to go to either because I am going to be taking classes for my future career all throughout my middle and high school years. I also take classes for my fall back which is to write at the same place and will do that once again throughout my middle and high school years of school.

Why did you make these choices?
I have always thought this way. I just see my goal and have my own plan and ideas on how to achieve it.

And how do you plan to accomplish this?
I will take acting and writing classes as said above at the local theater. Also all throughout school I will take Language Arts (writing, English, world languages, etc) classes.

I'm a junior. So I only have one and a half years left. But I decided in the 8th grade that I want to be a Psychologist for teens with personality disorders, addictions, and eating disorders.
I also decided my freshman year that I want to go to a 4 year University, and I decided which one also. And have stuck to my guns on my choice.
I made these choices because I have the same problems myself. And I think I could understand.
I plan to accomplish this by working as hard as I possibly can throughout the rest of high school and college.

I made these choices because of my boyfriend. I plan to accomplish this with the help of my boyfriend and my friends.
