I think this will be the quiet Christmas...too different without one of our family members who passed away this summer...Thanksgiving was NOT the same, I think I need more time before getting back to being myself...it's ok, I think that we all take what time we need to do what we must. I sincerely wish you all the very happiest Christmas you have ever had. Peace and Love, Goldwing

No, for Christmas Day, it will just be my husband and I as
usual. So I don't know whether to put up a big tree or not. We
now know what it's like to be alone for Christmas. I don't mind
being alone for Thanksgiving, but there's something more
empty about Christmas with just the two of us. We didn't
start out having Christmas with just us, and it seems so
strange now to feel an empty nest now that the last of family
is gone, or mostly so.
We will probably go to our daughters' house for Chr. Eve.
But it will be such a short duration there. It's just not comfort-
able for me to be there. I feel they'ed much rather be just the
three of them, and we should stay home. I just don't feel all
that welcome, and that it's forced behavior for them to be
nice, when they can be 'short' with us during the rest of the
year.Making me feel years older than I am actually. I would
like to relive the times when we visited friends on Chr. Eve
before going to my family home. But that didn't last long,
as one of my sisters' complained she couldn't open her gifts
up soon enough. I think our daughter takes after her, in wanting things her way all the time. And it's not as though they
have a pile of gifts to open. But I think they want it over and
done with, so they can go to bed and rest from their hectic
week of work. I think we need to find an alternate way to
celebrate Christmas doing something other than sit and watch TV. If there was a church nearby with a program, I'd
go. But even church goers stay home for Christmas, don't
they? I know I never went to church on Christmas. Only on
Sundays. But maybe some other churches are open for
a special program. Maybe I'll look into that. I would love to
hear some Christmas Carols outside of the stereo. I've
never looked into a Senior Center as I always felt too young
for those. But maybe I should. Who knows, maybe I'm miss-
ing something enjoyable LOL. I have these pre concieved
ideas that the only seniors that go to senior centers are the
very elderly. But nothing ventured, nothing gained. I may just
give them a call as well.
I miss the street carollers when I was young. I was one
myself one year. I remember not one person opened their
door to even look out LOL. Maybe they thought there were
some crazy kids outside trying to cause some trouble. When
we all came back to my house, my mom had hot chocolate
and some dessert waiting. And we sure were glad to get it.
That was the last time I went carolling, and can you blame me? LOL. So much for old tradtions LOL.
