No, not everybody. Just the people who end up in charge. That's the whole entire problem right there.

We've created a culture where people think it's wrong to solve problems, stand up for yourself, or *do anything* about a bad situation. If anyone tries, at best they get attacked and ridiculed for being "politically correct" or "too damned liberal". And at worst...the rich people spot a threat to their profit margins, and do what they can to *erase that threat*.

Seriously, that is what it boils down to. The CEOs, your One Percenters, know Peak Oil is coming soon, and so they know that the *only* Profit Centers they have left, are going to involve *exploiting* other people's problems (debts, poor health, lack of public order in neighborhoods, lack of *good* (fully funded) public schools) half to death. And so solving problems and correcting bad situations aren't allowed.

Simply put: Those who care to act, and want to act, aren't allowed to...those who *can* act, who have the money and connections to get things done, have the least incentive to do so, and the *most* incentive to be brain-dead and just exploit things.

So *everybody* doesn't have to be brain dead, not so long as your One Percenter Company Media keeps pumping the message into everyone *else's* heads, and not so long as HMOs, outsourcing, income cliffing, Wal-Mart caliber managerial practices, using illegal workers (scabs and immigrants), and so on, keep ordinary people with half a brain *scrambling and desperate* just to get by.

I hope this helps. ^_^ I hope this makes sense, but I'm not holding my breath here. It's the damned Companies, Big Oil among them....they are dangerous, out of control, brain-dead dumb and *dead set* against letting *anyone else* become self-sufficient or empowered to act, period, for *or* against them.

Thanks for your time. Good question.

Well, most of my friends are so ignorant they don't know what's going on with USA. All they know is the wars bad.

I would say they're brain dead.

But, we're not broke yet. Remember, owing money to other countries is a good thing. Because if something happens to us, other nations will care or else they lose their money.

So, there will always be debts thanks to Hamilton's view points.

What do you mean by that? Like our national debt? Then yes, many people are. We are considered to be one of the richest nations. Though at the moment our money isn't worth crap. If it keeps heading in the direction its going the peso is suddenly going to seem a lot more desirable.

People forget to, that we have trouble taking care of our own citizens. We have hard working, tax paying american's that are homless, or close to it. Yet we are to take care of other countries people, and resolve their conflicts?

I try not to focus on things i can't change. I have no control over what the people in the white house do with this country. And going to a ballot and pushing some dots with names next to them does no difference. After all i am just one person and have no control over much. so if they drain our finances as country i can't do anything to change it. so **** it.

No, I think they just don't want to admit that we are now becoming the third world countries since we sent all our jobs overseas instead of keeping them home where they belong. Now we are getting all the countries overseas rich as they ship all the products here etc.,

Obviously everyone is. We've been getting deeper and deeper in debt since the early 19th century..and what exactly has been done to prevent this..? NOTHING.

I don't think any sane economist would agree with that. Yes, there is a debt, but the economy is still healthier and stronger than just about everyone

I think most people are either in denial or their just ignorant & living in their own little bubble.

It's sad that I know people who have NO idea what goes on beyond their little neighborhoods...
