Will the US back down or attack Iran risking war with Russia ?

Question

Asia online reports that Putin's meeting with the Aylatolah has concluded with an argreement that a US attack on Iran is equal to an attack on Russia

Now if Israel attacks - then Russia hasn't commented - but an all out war against Israel is likely and asked for What other response could Iran give to it ?

Which has more than the ability to drag the US in and then Russia and or China Syria and so on

Or the US could drop the issue -

Will the US risk it Will Isreal risk a several front war in a region prone to war ?


Could the US allegience to Israel lead to the end of the world and is Israel woth that ?

There will be no attack,as was projected for the better part of 2006. Putin has made his views known - publicly - before this,and he has certainly communicated them to the U.S. government via diplomatic channels. No,it would not be worth a war. Iran has done nothing to afflict either the U.S. nor it's little spoiled brat of a sponsored-state.

Do any of you even know why we would attack Iran? Nuclear weapons program ring a bell? A very unbalanced government that pretty much hates all cultures but its own (especially those pesky Jews) is working towards making a weapon that is considered one of the most dangerous. The fact that Russia is making treaties with them is a sign that Russia is up to no good.

I believe that we should try to talk Iran out of their weapons program, but I also believe that their current president is likely not going to back down, since it is the common belief that a nuclear weapon carries a lot of political clout (North Korea, Pakistan) in America's eyes. Thus if they continue down this path I believe we should simply bomb the weapons plants and leave. No long term invasion simply an attack on weapons and get out of there.

I've already given a very long answer to a question similar to this, so I won't go into it here. But the US government has already taxed the American people to the limit, and I have my doubts that Americans will put up with much more of this nonsense. Iraq was a total mess, and an immoral war that should never have happened. It should be stopped immediately. With its economy as taxed as it already is, the US may very well be crippled if it goes to war with Iran.

Edit: Why do I always get a thumbs down when I mention the US being crippled? Is it because some people are so pompous to think that the US is invincible?

It's pretty much a given that Iran is untouchable. Not that Russia or China will retaliate, but Iran is capable by itself to bring the U.S. down to its knees (at the cost of the state of Iran itself).

The sheer amount of instability that Iran would bring to the middle east if invaded would be a major kick in the teeth for the U.S. And Russia and China know this.

If iran proves to be an imminent threat to the U.S. or Israel we will attack iran. But i doubt Iran would go that far little almoud is just trying to **** people offf not start a war.

First off, if a war would come between Iran\Russia against U.S.\Britain we would have to draft soldiers into our military. That would give us enough troops to wage a war on several fronts, just like WWII. Secondly, the U.S. will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons. They have stated their willingness to use them against Israel and\or the U.S. Russia's military is not a true threat in terms of moderness but in terms of manpower, we would definately need to supplement our forces with drafted men.

the US is about as close to war with Russia as we are with making the switch from fossil to alternative energy sources.

Iran will be bombed if they contiue with their weapons development I think.

It wont be a US attack, it will be a coalition with EU nations in addition to US forces.

Strategic bombing does not equate to invasion.

Russia wont do a thing.
