It's like they said to the guy who invented the wheel, MidAir. After he had exulted about all the wonderful things you can do with a wheel, he had to be reminded that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous.
You can say a lot of bad things about nuclear weapons, but also some good things: There has been no widespread fighting among world powers since 1945. The reason for that is because of nuclear weapons.
The first half of the Twentieth Century saw two major wars. Nearly a hundred million people died directly in those two wars, and at least a hundred million more were killed during peacetime by Communists, the spawn of the First World War.
I saw CJ's poorly thought-out answer. Were it not for nuclear weapons, CJ would probably not be writing his Bush-hating diatribes today. He or his father would have faced compulsory military service, and there's a good chance he or his dad would have become cannon fodder in "World War III" or one of its sequels that surely would have been fought after 1950.
If CJ and others seem troubled that President Bush has his hand on the nuclear trigger, consider this: the reason we in the United States built our nuclear arsenal is because of the true horror that if we didn't, totalitarian dictators like Hitler,Stalin and Saddam Hussain would get the weapons first. If any of these tyrants had the Bomb and we did not, there seems absolutely no doubt that our country would long ago have been laid waste by nuclear attacks, quite probably wiping out CJ and all those who gratuitously feel the way he does.
When I consider that, I'm thankful that our president has the Bomb available as a deterrent, should the unthinkable happen. As a New Yorker, living in the dream target of tyrants and terrorists worldwide, I firmly believe I would not be here today if circumstances were otherwise.

The Atomic Bomb, it is bad that they invented it to because other countries have gotten hold of them. Just like now if Bush attacks Iran then we are dead, they are gonna bomb us with Atomic Bombs, and if they use enough they could destroy all life in the United States. And you know how dumb Bush is.
