About once a week I have to add antifreeze to my recovery tank in my Ford Taurus. I do not see anything on the ground and the car does not appear to run hot yet the recovery tank becomes empty. Where is the antifreeze going? What could be wrong? Thanks

You may have a worn out radiator cap. This holds pressure on the system but if worn out it will allow steam to leak out. Worst case scenario is you need a head gasket.

Perhaps the recovery tank my have a small crack in it. Or you may have a small leak in your hoses and sometimes it will evaporate from the engines heat before you can see it. Look at the water pump area. Sometimes the by pass hose has a leak in it. It is normally on the top of your water pump.

Check your oil is it over-full? are you blowing white smoke out the tail pipe? Your head gaskets may be leaking, introducing coolant into either the crankcase or the combustion chamber or both. Be careful get it checked before you do any further damage.
