it is not better, worse or the same as the "real world" but it is the time in everyone's life that should be enjoyed and be trained in the coming life of responsibility and realities. it is the time that everyone should take time to learn things and be happy, time to be with friends and develop new ones, time to create some memories you can look back too and laugh about; not something to say and ask "what if?" it is a time for freedom, trials, tribulations, 'crushes', making mistakes, correcting it, experiments, findings and trying to see and learn about social grace, friendship, human realtionship, at the same time preparing yourself for the hardship of life to come like earning livelihood, preparing for college(which is the immediate reason for it) having your own family, memories..good and bad, happiness and sadness.
i did experiences all of this and every time i look back i laughed at it and sometimes i can truthfully say that its one of the many significant years of my development as a very responsible and mature person i am now. so if you are just going to enter high school enjoy and be creative and resourceful in making it the best times and productive years of your life.

High School is measurably worse then real life.

I now know that the popular crowd in High School rarely ends up as the happiest people in real life. In high school

The Capt of the football team = Downtown insurance sales.
Nerdy Art Chick = Lives in Soho

conformity is valued above all else. Kids form Cliques in the groups that will accept them. Band Kid, Jock, Stoner, Cheerleaders. Archtypes that have existed now for decades. As soon as you leave high school and enter a "real" college you will find that people in the know eschew conformity and it's individuality and creativity that mark the most interesting people.

One of the absolute saddest things on earth is the fact that some kids don't even survive High School. The horrible artificial pressure drives them to take their own lives and yet if they could have only held on just a few more years they would find that live after high school can be far, far better then the lord of the flies nightmare that is the public educational system

High school is much worse than the 'real world'. It is also a special time in your life so you should enjoy it. If I could do it over again I would totally just be myself and not take **** off anyone. Don't be afraid to be yourself and say what you think. On some level, high school sucks for everyone. Enjoy this time where you don't have to pay bills and get caught up in the drugdery of day to day life.

the fact is, you probably did not actually have a actual engagement. Being engaged means you're actively making plans your wedding ceremony. Being engaged for 4 years means that's exceedingly a lot meaningless on account which you weren't relatively making any plans. in case you had to place it off until you have been performed with college, he could've waited until then and while he would desire to have the funds for a actual ring. that's in all likelihood that no person takes your "engaged" prestige heavily anymore. He would have dedication subject concerns, that's exceedingly easy. females shouldn't purchase their own engagement ring and adult adult males shouldn't propose until they have the funds for a superb ring and relatively plan on marrying the female as quickly because of the fact the marriage they like may well be planned. All you have been doing is enjoying domicile, it wasn't a actual notion.

High school is very dependent and varies from person to person. I loved high school but it might not be the same for others. I can tell you that it is nothing like it is portrayed on TV. And if you do end up hating high school, 95% of the people you will never see again in your entire lifetime.

Way worse since you're dumbfounded with homework, STUPID *** drama, and of course the need for studying.

To me, it was worse. There's so much judgment and pressure to conform coming from other people, plus you have no freedom! Adults are a bit more likely to keep their unpleasant opinions to themselves.
