1. Problems in Africa:
When humans had just finished evolving and were spreading around the world, Europe had the best natural resources. They were able to develop weapons.
When Europeans tried to take over Africa, they were successful because their weapons were better.
Europe developed ahead of Africa because of the differences in resources.
Once Africa was behind, they stayed behind, constantly trying to catch up, and Africa is still behind today.
The root of poverty in Africa is the lack of an education system. For one, Africans often learn very little about sex, and the risks it poses, so sexually transmitted diseases are easily spread. Secondly, Africans do not receive the necessary education to find a good paying job to feed their families and live successful lives.

2. Treatment of woman in fundamentalist islamic countries:
Woman in these societies are expected to be modest, and pure. They must be covered in clothing, and non-disturbing. This is detrimental to global society because these women have untapped intelligence to lend to the world. Instead of contributing actively in society, their opinions are often suppressed by their society.
