i found out about the divorce because my bf receieved a paper stating she filied for child support in another state currently she was in pennsylvania so we are in wisconsin and i decided to look up the court records in wisconsin to see if she filed for child support here and to suprise she filed for divorce in the same county we live in. they are not allowed to have contact with eachother or friends or family members of the other person so theres no way i can contact her or he will go to jail and i seen the pfa that states all that. the girl is just insane and has been trying to find him and went to oklahoma just to talk to his aunt to see where he is. shes just out there to make his life hell for the most part but now she filed false documents so wouldnt she go to jail for falsyfing government records or something

Some states have common-law marriage -- they recognize couples as married under certain circumstances, even without documentation.

She could be charged but it won't get that far.

OK so it's not common law. Even if that was the case common law doesn't just happen. People in the community have to know you as married and the couple has to represent themselves as such. For any legal purposes affidavits have to have to be filed which would require his participation.

If you are married by a person who can legally do so papers do not necessarilly have to be filed for a marriage to be legal. Witnessescan attest that a marriage was performed....... but he would remember getting married so that's out.

So she moves to another state but is obsessed w. him so why did she move? She moves back and is obsessed and insane to the point of trying to file false divorce papers. What does she gain as this would not woo him back. She would have to be totally over the edge to try this. How over the edge is she if she was part of your boyfriend's life? What really happened...... I would be curious.

To file for divorce you have to have a marriage certificate period. So if she does not have that your boyfriend would go whatever. She will go away when he tells her go for it and realizes it won't work. Or he ignores it and when he is served papers he makes a few calls. Or he goes forget the past and let her go away..... no going to court and all of that as he is w. you now. No big. How do you know this is happening? Emails, letter or his word?

Anything is possible in this world but odds are there is something you don't know. All evidence presented point to the fact that he is lying to you. Again possibly not but you owe it to yourself to find out. My bet is you could ask your boyfriend for a way to contact her. He will say no as this will make it worse or he has no way to do so. He got contacted right and if he is OK he will be fine w. it.

If your relationship is tight he should be going OK as well. It is established that she is nuts to try the divorce so anything she says means nothng.

For the courts to accept the divorce filing she had to provide a marriage license. Get a copy of the filed papers.

LOL - are you sure he isn't lying????

Ask to her to provide a copy of the marriage license and if she can't get the location of the marriage. No one forgets where they were married unless really drunk.
One quick search of court records will be all the proof the judge needs to throw the case out and if it ticks him off enough - the judge can press charges or have charges filed.

Hopefully she is footing all the bills and her lawyer is going to be really ticked off --- or she can request your boyfriend foot the bill in some state's so I would really get my facts all together , real soon.
