they have pretty good starting pitching. They just need a star hitter and a better bullpen and they could win the div.

In stark contrast, I am a Dodgers fan who absolutely HATES the Giants, but I think if they can make a few savvy moves in the offseason (acquiring a bat or two and fixing the holes in the bullpen), that they might contend. Cain and Lincecum should only get better, and Lowry was one of the best left-handed starters in the league. Zito should bounce back from a subpar year, and Sanchez should improve. So they might be able to contend, but making the playoffs is far from certain.

They havfe greta starting pitching but thats all they have. You need to have a little offense to win and they have none at all. I 'm a Giants fan as well but I undrstand that I might not see them contend for a couple more years. They have scout that find great pitching but they lack in scouts that fing good hitting prospects, that is there problem right now

they'd have to resign barry. give him 10 million to play 95 games a year in left and another 12 at DH in interleauge play. his spot in the lineup guarantees either the batter before him, barry, or hte batter after him will reach base somehow. barry's OBP is still obscene and he opens up so many opportunities for the batters around him.

They have good young talent from Tim, but need a big name to replace Bonds. I say they should go for Miguel Cabrera. Get rid of Aurilia if that's what the Marlins want for Miguel.

I have to say that without Barry Bonds they most certainly have a better chance. Without his huge ego and "sportsmanship" that team will play better, plus they wont have the media dogging them every day.

Unless they get some major players this offseason it's going to be another long year for San Fransisco.

If they can WIN the majority of their last games then they have a chance. But the Cowboys are in there division and they are not going to catch up with them so their future is not looking so good.
