I will have to add that everyone, EVERYONE, must be good Americans and stop thinking about being a Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative. Our democracy is being stolen from us and both parties are complicit!
Please see this documentary: "America: Freedom to Fascism" by Aaron Russo. All thinking Americans must be moved to action to take back our country before it's too late!

I'll just deal with the SOCIAL "conservatives" here, since I'm a social liberal.
They probably are scared to death that a Democrat will be elected President. Since ALL of the Democratic candidates are egalitarians. And that the grievous damage done to the U.S. Supreme Court by Bush's appointment of NON-egalitarian justices would possibly then be reversed. And that the remaining opposition to (harmless!) same-sex marriage would go down the drain. And that abortion rights would continue unimpeded by a no-longer-threatened Roe vs. Wade decision.
Of course, for we who are human and civil rights-oriented, this would be the END of an 8-year-long nightmare!
To "No Bushrons" -- That's an excellent list of resources. Thanks for providing it to us! May I suggest (even though I wrote it) that you add this to your list for future use? I think it'll add another important dimension to it... and one that too few people have realized is the case ---

ending the war in Iraq.
The conservative citizens of America worry that ending the war will create more terrorism, despite the fact that all the terrorist stories have all came from The White House, and were greatly exaggerated (A.K.A propaganda).
The conservative politicians like Bush's worry that if the war ended, the corporations and contractors that are making BILLIONS of $$$ from the war (by getting awarded defense contracts) will stop pumping very large amounts of $$$ into their campaigns (pockets).

Actually having a true, working democracy--and an educated electorate. Let's face it: people sometimes get what they deserve, with corrupt politicians and slowly eroding rights. Heads up, folks! Do your bit and find out what's really going on!
