The Ankou Ghost gaurds cemetries. Stories of this ghost have been around for hundreds of years.

In some parts of ancient Europe, whenever a new graveyard was built, it was common to bury someone alive in the first grave so a ghostly gaurdian was created.

This Ankou would then protect the graveyard.

The Ankou is thought to give that shiver which people say is like someone walking over my grave. There appears to be no firm description of this Ghost.

Spirits tend to give off cold spots. So if you pass over a grave, and theres a spirit or ghost around the area you will experiance a chill as long as the ghost is near you.

grave yards tend to be cold and dank especially if they have mausoleums . and the ghost thing of cold airs is probably the association of the dead cadaver which is not warm but cold and liveless.
