A thirty day notice is required under Idaho Statute S 55-208.

You need to review what you lease states, normally the landlord is looking at money and a 30 day notice gives them enough time to replace you as the tenant with that least amount of downtime and maximize their income... I would say odds are, yes you are required to complete a 30 day notice.
