Some type of small device that's EASY to use, has some sort of password / or encryption and that's stand alone. I dont want to have to use a pocket PC.

I use a simple thumb drive with kneepassportable:

The site also has plenty of other portable apps you can take with you also, firefox, thunderbird, etc..

For encrypting the entire drive, I use TrueCrypt in travel mode:

There are many solutions for this. Google for RFID, Smartcard and Fingerprint scanner.

I use spiral bound index cards, won't fit on a key chain but its very handy
