Master Chi: This is on of the smartest questions I've ever seen posted in politics. Basically you have the solution to our number one problem which is Terrorism !?
It's all about poverty, which has been effecting the ME politics significantly. Notwithstanding, poverty shouldn't exist in ME.
In ME poverty is the root cause of all terrorism.
Abolish poverty and end the Terror.
My Best Regards.

Poverty for sure. We'll always have enemies as long as we insist on running around the world pulling guns on people. The 'enemy' is us! Over 30 years ago Jimmy Carter did two things. He published the Carter Doctrine that stated that the middle east was in the US sphere of influence and we would go to war to protect our interests there. Our interests there then, as now is oil! To that end he built up a massive navy fleet in the area and made a military alliance with Iran and Afganistan to keep the Russians out. This was supposed to be a stop gap measure. At the same time, to eventually get us out of that part of the world, he instituted the first steps toward energy independence here in the states. In the end, the fleet stayed and energy independence went down the tubes. We could still exit the middle east, and because of the advances in technology we could be energy independent. But don't worry...that won't happen. Try to get people to understand that the world doesn't have to be the way it is and they call 'ya a commie. The Oil Mafia won...we the people lost. Maybe if we got rid of some of these 'conservatives'........yeah, but what are the chances of that?

Not an Either / Or situation.
Eliminate the Gang Of Pirates and their foot on the neck of everyone, and you would go a very long way to eliminating poverty. Not just in the US but in the entire World

Poverty, then I would go to the source of the magic wand and ask for 4 more. 3 to eliminate greed, corruption and ignorance and 1 to provide good healthcare to everyone.

Enemies are only within and not external. If we stop considering every enemy as enemy, no problem, as our friendship creates the enemies - a friend who has dislike in any of our behavior or characteristics or unsatisfied in his gains from us, he becomes an enemy. But 'Sajjan" (good minded) can understand life and human and would never keep or encourage enemies. Our Interests and special interests that are not suitable to the circumstances - time or place - are our enemies. There is a proverb "the one who is always angry need no other enemies to destroy him".

Enemies of the US. That way all of the politicians as well as foreign enemies would vanish.
Then we could work on eliminating poverty. It would be called starting over.
I hope it happens soon.

If we eliminated all poverty it would effectively eliminate many of our enemies and we would be so powerful economically that the enemies that still existed would be marginalized.

If we could eliminate poverty everywhere and make sure people were well fed and educated, I doubt America would have any enemies.

Enemies of the US generally have good reasons. And poverty in the US is not as bad as poverty in 3rd world countries. There's a lot bigger problems in this country than those two choices.

First, all poverty. Immediately after that, all ignorance.
And that would eliminate all of the enemies, without having to kill anyone.
