I would notice the power was off, but I'd be calm for several hours. I would still have food and water, so I would have to notice lack of movement. I live in the country, so it might take 2-3 days. Sometimes in the winter, we're without power for days.
Bwahaha, it wouldn't be very different than every other day.
It could take me a week to notice, another week to venture out and I'm not sure I would care. I would try to check on my parents, then I'd head South to check on my daughter. If she were dead, or gone, I'd still head South for more temperate climes.
I'd find a nice, self-sustaining house outside of Austin, ramp up the garden, read, hike and have a nice life.
If one already lives an isolated lifestyle in the country, it wouldn't be a shock.

The first thing is to find a very large bottle of vodka, and drown myself into an oblivious stupor that could last several days. Denial is the first step.
Then, after sobering up, I'd pull myself up from the boot straps, and figure out the age old question...Do we really need men to make this world go 'round? LOL

If there was no power and only the sun, and nobody else, I would find m way to a hammer and smash all stores open and steal everything even the money and I would eat and do nothing all day.

I would get into my car, be happy I won't have to deal with traffic. Go to the local power plant, and press the 'on' button. I'd go loot as many stores as possible. Get really really high, and watch a lot of porn.

Help yourself to anything in all the stores, break the window and take what you want. Then since there's no one to share it with just kill yourself. But first wear all the nice clothes, fantasize about all the men that would die to be with you.
