I'm going to buy a new living room set and i'm just seeing what the avg person spends.

I have a cream Italian Leather couch - it was only $250.00 at Sam's Club marked down from $1000.00, a $500.00 metal coffee table with a wrought iron bottom from Crate & Barrell and a vintage wood rocking chair I got from Craigslist for $15.00.

Depends whats included in a 'set'. I bought everything piece by piece over time so I'm really not 100% sure. I got a modular sofa with a sofa bed for $1700AU, rugs and curtains about $1200AU. My biggest cost was 4 eight foot tall antique bookcases and I'm not even going to tell you how much they were. But you should expect to spend about 3 grand.

Gosh, I really don't know what the total price was.
I know the tv was around $2,000
I ordered two lamps, they were $250 a piece
The couch,loveseat,recliner,2 end tables and coffee table, I am not sure what the price was for the whole set.

Lucky you! My living room furniture is hand me down, the second hand me down set I have had. Until my kids are not treating furniture like their personal gym I will not spend any decent money on it.
From my window shopping, the set I most like would be about $2500.00, on sale.

average probably spends about 2,000 or so..
I only spent 800 on everything because I have a great store near me that sells all the furniture from model homes at 1/4 of the price.

My sofa was $1600 and each La-Z-Boy chair is about $350. I don't remember the cost of the side tables, coffee table, lamps, drapes, curtains, and carpeting.

TO SAY I'M A CLEARANCE FAN IS UNDERSTATING ME. I GAVE 450.00 FOR MY SOFA AND TWO CHAIRS. MY COFFEE TABLE AND END TABLE COST ME LESS THAN 100.00. THEY WERE MADE FROM A LARGE TREE A FRIEND CUT DOWN. 3 TREE TRUNKS SET IN MY CARPORT FOR TWO YEARS DRYING OUT, AFTER THE BARK FELL OFF I RUBBED THEM WITH LINSEED OIL , COUNTER SANK SOME CASTERS ON THE BOTTOM AND PUT GLASS ON THEM THEY ARE MY PRIDE AND JOY. NOW THEY NEED A HOUSE DESERVING OF THEM LOL. GOOD LUCK!!

Mine would be around $1200. It has everything including an ottoman, two side tables, center table, & phone stand w/ lamp. Great purchase.
