My sister in law was on the pill and ran out so she went to planned parenthood on halloween and they were closed so she did not get to take the pill for about 3 days. the nurse told her to take 3 in one day and then go back to one. her last period was the 22nd of oct. and has not started her period. could she be pregnate or is it just from the pill? she took a test and it came up with a horizontal line.

Shes going monday to get another test at the health dept. and get insurance bc she can not get it threw work

she took a hpt and instead of a cross, it just showed a horizontal line

she might be, however, sometimes the pill can screw with your system. if you miss more than one day it is safest to use backup protection (like condoms) until your next period. she should wait a few days, and take another test, preferably of a different brand than she took before, just to make sure. if it still shows she is pregnant, she should go back to planned parenthood and have the doctor administer her a pregnancy test.

id just wait for another 2 weeks, now tell her if the first one come up neg then wait and go get a blood test done. i took 4 home tests and 1 hospital test and they were all neg, i waited 2 weeks and went and got a blood test and i found out i was 8 weeks pregnant and i didnt know it. so there for the reason all the home tests were neg was because i had a low HCG level and it couldn't pick it up yet. she could be pregnant and there is that chance she might well be, but just wait the 2 weeks and see what the out come is ok. good luck to both of you and if she is pregnant congrats.

My period was suppose to come October 16th. Guess what, I'm pregnant!
Does she have any symptoms? Sore breasts, headaches, dizziness, moodiness?
Tell her to take a test, If she is pregnant she needs prenatal care. Good Luck!!

I would assume she was pregnant, she needs to take another test but they are pretty accurate these days.
She should have used back up B/C for a while before having unprotected sex but what's done is done. Another test should be taken.
