So would 1 whack for each minute your were over your bedtime be excessive? 1 per 10?
And you'd have to keep count.

Over my knee, pajama pants down, and five minutes or so hand-spanking followed by a few dozen stingers with the hairbrush. Then a big hug and off to bed with you, young lady.
