I'm pretty sure the primary reason for developing the nuke was to use in WWII.

I don't know about it "working out" in terms of national security, but it has certainly kept a full-scale world war from breaking out.

The reason for developing nuclear weapons was to win WWII and restore peace.
Then more of them were developed for national security, to defend us from the USSR. Of course they developed them too. This worked fairly well for a long time, since neither country was suicidal or stupid.
Now, the situation is changing. As far as I know, no suicidal power has a nuclear weapon. But that's "as far as I know." And some (e.g. Iran) are trying to get them.
If somebody who doesn't care whether his people survive or not gets The Bomb, we could be facing an entirely new threat.

on no account. Greed is accountable for many threats to all international locations. There are 3 genuine measures to guard a rustic. the 1st natcerally a nicely recommended public. 2. Protesters. 3. Separation Of Church and State. And 2 extra. 4. Separation of Greed from State which inserts into 3. 5. Civil Rights. If all worldwide places have this they don't desire nuclear weapons
