We haven't detected any that are going to hit us, so I don't have any idea where you get the idea one is coming soon. We don't have the technical resources in place to even see one coming on a reliable basis, much less see it in time to do anything. Even if we did see one coming, we don't have any way to do anything about it, and we are just barely starting to get some ideas about what might even be possible.

I wouldn't worry too much about an asteroid hitting and killing you. But keep your eyes open for things like cars, they do tend to hit quite often. (in other words, if you are going to live in fear, try to be a little realistic about it.)

Which asteroids are coming? Name your source. Anyway, there's only about 3% of the entire sky being watched at any one time, so it's a "shot-in-the-dark" if we find an Earth-killer in time, and then there's not much planning done to stop one, even if we spot one. A HUGE one would be unstoppable. Don't believe all that 2012 BS, either.

Armageddon is a movie, not a scientific resource.

PHA's (potentially hazardous asteroids) are monitored by special groups at NASA. If one were to hit Earth, there is not much we could do to stop it. It has happened before and caused destruction to ecosystems and it could happen again.
