i waz walking with my friend and i went home and my mom told me to take a check to our landlord which lives right in front of me so i took it over and she wasn't there so i just decided to put the check in my pocket and i will take it to her later. when i got hom ei could not find the check!!!! it was for $850 dollars and i dont know what to do, should i tell my mom so she should cancel it or should i just keep it to myself. advice plz!!!! dont be mean

Keeping it to yourself is a bad option. Your landlord will not get the check and ask your mother about it. She will ask you if you delivered the check. You will either tell her the truth at that time or lie about it. Tell her now. She can cancel the check and write a new one. If the rent isn't paid on time there may be a penalty. Your mistake should cost money if you act responsibly now.

oh yea, you have to tell your mom right away.
A. So she can put a stop payment on it.
B. So she can make arragements to pay the rent on time.
you might get evicted if you don't pay the rent. If your mom KNOWS she gave you a check and your landlord asks for the rent, she is going to get extremely upset at the landlord.
Do the right thing here.

Go to your mom. Everybody makes mistakes. You should go ASAP before someone finds the check. It's not a big deal, don't sweat it. Just promise your mom you'll be more careful next time!

Tell her as soon as possible so she can do a stop payment on it at the bank. As soon as this is done you should be all set. Accidents happen to the best of us. Just relax and tell you mom.

yes, you need to tell her so she can stop payment and issue a new check.
also very important, you don;t want her to be late with payment.
