So why was it asked at a republican debate not a democrat one?

It was indeed a Clinton bill. It is asked of both republican and democratic candidates, but more so of the republicans because of the misconceptions place on both sides. To say that republicans oppose gays in the military shows an equal ignorance to those that say democrats support abortion. The "R" or "D" before each politicians name has become nothing more than symbolic, as opposed to meaning anything. You will only discover what each candidate really believes by reviewing there voting records, not by listening to a biased media.

Yes, Jeremy, it is a Clinton Bill.
It wasn't asked during the debate because CNN has an agenda. Perhaps, it should stand for: Clinton News Network ;-)

Don't Ask Don't Tell was proposed and approved during the Clinton administration, and President Clinton supported it, but the issue of gays in the military is an ongoing issue and candidates from both parties will be asked their opinions on this issue, whether they would keep Don't Ask Don't Tell as it is or create a new policy.

Great Question not asked by Anderson Cooper.

To answer yours:

Correct, It was introduced as a compromise measure in 1993 and approved by then President Bill Clinton who, while campaigning for the Presidency, had promised to allow all citizens regardless of sexual orientation to serve openly in the military, a departure from the then complete ban on those who are not heterosexual.

So, I believe it was a Hillary plant, Who was planted to inform liberals of her plans to resume her husbands fight to allow open gays in the military which was her husband policy. Simply put it was a gotcha question posed by Democrats and CNN, to embarrass Republicans and inject Hillary Clinton's promise to gays her fight to allow them in the military.

DADT isn't even a huge deal, it basically prevents homosexuals from parading their homosexuality and throwing it in each and every person's face. the gang showers in boot camp may well be somewhat awkward otherwise. I had diverse gay acquaintances interior the militia, they only weren't particularly loud approximately what they did. They honorably served and have been given out. i think of each and every person'S organization is ultimate stored interior the mattress room. @Lisa Marie: you have by no ability been interior the militia, you do no longer understand what you're speaking approximately. no person CARES as long as human beings shop it to themselves. it is likewise a contravention against the UCMJ to have intercourse in any place different than missionary. guess what? no person CARES!
