Does this person love you in return? Make sure that if this person hurt you before that you are not just remembering the good times... and that is what is making you love them all over again. Confront that person about their feelings for you. And then you will know.. to truly move on. Or if it will work this time around.

Well, do you have to? You can really try and avoid this if you want to. And if you are married, for example, you probably should.
You don't contact the person, you don't encourage them to contact you, you keep your mind filled up with other fascinating or necessary things to think about and do. You keep busy, look after yourself, and just avoid falling in love. I know, I know, the pop notion is that these things are always inevitable - thanks to the movies etc - but really, we do have a certain amount of will or control over how we choose to deal with things, even romantic feelings (or lack thereof).
