about three times the energy one would use to cook a large rib roast. The oven is locked and the temperture raised to burn off residue which has accumulate from use. If the procedure is followed immediately when splatter is evident after use the cleaning cycle the energy use is less. The cheapest and best cleaning is using easy off oven cleaner after every use. This method uses no electricity.
